• Connects families to cultural community groups and resources

Our History

The co-operative emerged out of a public health initiative to enhance maternal and infant health within immigrant and refugee communities. Since 1995, the co-operative has supported immigrant and refugee families isolated because of cultural and linguistic barriers

  Our Programs & Services

All of our programs and services are delivered in the first language of our families and are free of charge

Perinatal Outreach

• Pre-natal, post-natal and early parenting support
• Access to Health for Two resources
• Family Planning education

Multicultural Family Connections

• Early parenting and childhood development support for families with children 0 to 6 of refugee background

Culturally Responsive Home Visitation and Intervention Services

• Home visitation to provide intensive and holistic family support, as well as access to community supports

Multicultural Family Support for Children with Disabilities

• Support for families of immigrant and refugee backgrounds with children with disabilities in partnership with Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD)

Multicultural Seniors Outreach

• Support for isolated seniors of immigrant and refugee background in partnership with SAGE (Senior Association of Greater Edmonton)

Cultural Competency Training & Workshops

• Design and deliver learning experiences for participants to enhance their capacities to serve people and communities from diverse cultural backgrounds
